Share the Warmth

SHARE THE WARMTH This summer I joined The Terminus Initiative as the new manager. It’s an exciting time to be joining such a warm and big hearted organisation but also a time of great need.
The introduction of the new benefit ‘Universal Credit’ has seen low income homes suffer as they wait for their applications to be processed. The switch over to Universal Credit in Sheffield began on 7th November and, alongside Grace Food Bank and other community partners, we are trying to be as prepared as possible to help those left without money for essentials.
We have an ongoing programme of hardship assistance to provide top ups for people who have run out of money on their gas and electric meters. However, this small fund will only stretch so far. The money in this pot was originally donated by a church member who decided they did not need their winter fuel allowance and kindly gave it to us to distribute to those in greater need. Right now the need for Christian charity and warmth is greater than ever. This is my appeal to you for help with sharing the warmth and helping people keep the lights on this winter.
