On 12th September (note change of date) we are going to meet in the Quiet Garden in Totley Rise Methodist Church grounds at 7.30 p.m. to journey along St Mark’s Gospel trail. After this we can get a fish supper from the local ‘chippie’ and eat together in the Garden Room at church.
On 3rd October the meeting will be at 8 Abbeydale Park Rise to discuss how we can work together on the ‘Picturing the Parables’ project. Please let me know your choice of parable – bearing in mind we have to recreate it!
In November the Pomegranate theatre is screening several films marking the centenary of the end of World War 1 so our monthly meeting will be to see Oh What a Lovely War on Monday 5th November at 7.30 p.m. There is no need to book in advance. Full price is £7.90, concessions £5.90
Our Christmas meal will be on 5th December. Any suggestions of places to go would be welcome as soon as possible.
2nd January will be the book night: All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr. I can get copies if you’d like me to. It seems to be quite a challenging read but I’m assured it’s really moving and although sad it has a good ending.
6th February will be the film night at Elaine’s house.
6th March will be a Desert Island Dishes evening. Please let me have your choice of dishes for a 3 course meal before the meeting and we can try and match people to food. Any anonymous tasters of starters or puddings would add a little je ne sais quoi to the evening!
